Vehicle Audit Program

The vehicle audit program was designed to draw awareness to the measures vehicle owners can take to prevent themselves from becoming a victim of auto crime, and to collect data on how well people do this. A ticket showing the results of the audit is left on the vehicle windshield. Each ticket provides information specific to that vehicle on one side and information on immobilizers and other auto crime prevention measures on the other.

In addition to increasing the COPP task list, the Vehicle Audit Program provides you with the opportunity to increase dialogue between your members and the communities you patrol. Each booklet contains 50 audit tickets and takes less than 30 minutes to complete. I encourage you to identify and target key dates and locations within your community. Local festivals, tourist attractions, recreation centres and fair grounds are all ideal locations to complete the audits.

Vehicle audit program booklets will be distributed at the Citizens on Patrol Program conference. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email to mriel@mpi.mb.ca, by telephone at 985-8663 or toll-free at 1-800-665-2410.

I look forward to working with you to reduce auto crime in Manitoba and specifically in your community.
