2011 Annual Manitoba COPP Conference

Winnipeg

October 21 - 23, 2011

To register for the 2010 COPP Conference, October 21 - 23, please complete and submit this online application.

If you have difficulty registering please contact Tracey Proctor at 985-8849 or 1-866-326-7792. The registration deadline is September 24, 2011.

Here is some important information to consider when you are registering:

  • Three delegates per group (maximum).
  • One law enforcement liaison officer per group only. Be sure to indicate which COPP group they are associated with.
  • If one of your members is a Regional Representative on the Provincial Advisory Committee or is a COPP trainer, they will register under that role, and need not be counted as one of your three delegates.
  • All groups are required to submit VOLUNTEER and PATROL hours for the first half of 2011 prior to registering for the conference. If you have not submitted any hours for 2011, please update those as soon as possible.
  • Accommodations - The conference will be held at the Hilton Suites Winnipeg Airport Hotel in Winnipeg (1800 Wellington Avenue). Manitoba COPP will be responsible for room rental and taxes. Delegates will be responsible for personal amenities and additional charges to the room. To make special hotel accommodations, please contact Tracey. Non-member guests and children are welcome.
  • Mileage and transportation costs - Manitoba COPP will cover travel costs to and from the conference. The mileage covered will be based on standard government rates. Other transportation, such as flights, will need to be coordinated through Manitoba COPP. Please contact Tracey to make those arrangements.
  • Additional banquet tickets - Conference delegates get one ticket each for the Saturday night banquet. Additional tickets may be purchased for $40 each. You may request additional banquet tickets when you register online. Payment must be received at time of registration. Cheques will be accepted and are payable to Manitoba COPP. Note: NSF cheques are subject to bank service charges.
  • Cancellations - To cancel or substitute your registration, please contact Tracey. Registered delegates who do not provide the Provincial Coordinator with a cancellation notice may be subject to a $300.00 fee.

Agenda

We'll have a formal agenda prepared for the conference, but here’s an overview of what it’s all about…

Take a gamble
Join us Friday evening anytime after 7:00 p.m. in the banquet room at the Hilton Suites Winnipeg Airport Hotel. You can get yourself signed in for the weekend, and at 8 p.m. Casino Night starts. CB Casinos & More from Brandon has a fun night planned for us to try our luck at their Black Jack Tables, Roulette Wheels, Slot Machines, Horseracing Game and Laser Shooting Gallery. If you’ve been to one of their events, you’ll know it’s a lot of fun and a good fundraising opportunity. Bring your money to exchange for play money…and at the end of the evening you might win a great prize! The money we raise will go to a great charity. We’ll also have some snacks and drinks to help keep you going.

Happy 20th Anniversary COPP!
Saturday we’ll start with breakfast (8 – 9 a.m.), followed by an overview of what’s happened with the program since last year, as well as a look at how COPP is doing in Manitoba. We’ll look back at the past 20 years, as well to the next 20! Groups are welcome to have a display of photos, news clippings and memorabilia for us to enjoy.

Get in the know
After lunch the break-out sessions will take place from 1:30 – 4 p.m. (You can select two choices from the four listed on the form). There will be a bit of time after that to get ready for the evening reception and banquet.

Time to celebrate
The reception starts at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner will begin at 6:30. Between delicious dinner courses, we’ll award some wonderful people and shower everyone in some well-deserved volunteer recognition.

Annual general meeting
On Sunday morning, we hope that as voting members of COPP, you’ll be able to join us for breakfast and take part in a brief Annual General Meeting.

It’s done!
